BREXIT - Customer Update

BREXIT and what you need to know.

Dear Customer,

Regardless of the outcome of negotiations between the UK and EU, how we trade with customers in Northern Ireland and Europe will change from 1st of January 2021. These changes will take effect with us from 23rd December 2020 as this is our last trading day before Christmas and New Year holidays.

At ETC Supplies we will continue to do business with our customers as before and try to keep everything as simple as possible.

What we will do:

 We will change the format of our invoices to include the following information;

 Our EORI number will be noted on the invoice.

  • Our Incoterms will be noted on the invoice.

  • The product Commodity Code will be noted on the invoice.

  • The Country of Origin for each item will be noted on the invoice.

  • The shipment Net and Gross weight will be noted on the invoice.

  • We are registered on the TSS website.

  • You will be supplied with details of the shipment and the courier company.

What you need to do:

Northern Ireland customers must provide us with;

       * EORI XI number.

  • VAT number.

  • Register on the Trader Support Service website to allow completion of any forms required by Customs and Courier companies.

  • VAT number.

  • Duty Deferment account number.

  • Customs account number.

  • Agree to our Incoterms of DAP (delivered at place).

  • You will have to make your own countries Duty and VAT payments.

  • Most couriers will help you with the Customs clearance, subject to a fee. You may prefer to have your own customs agent clear your goods through Customs in your country.

  • Any delays and storage charges applied by Customs or couriers because the receiver has not dealt with import charges on time will be billed to the customer by us.

All customers MUST KEEP the original documents, including invoice, delivery note, couriers consignment note and any other correspondence for inspection by your local Customs officials. We CANNOT provide you with copies or further originals.

Our couriers have informed us that they will be adding £5.00 document charge to all European consignments. We will be increasing our carriage rates to include this charge.

We look forward to our continued business relationship with all of our European customers.
